Research interests
The main projects are the research of photonic crystals in microwave regime, including three-dimensional (3D) photonic crystals (PCs) and magneto-optical photonic crystals (MO PC s) in microwave regime. For 3D PCs, we put our efforts in all kinds of optical devices design, 3D optical integration design, and applying the photonic band gap and conductive bands properties of 3D PCs to control and navigate the propagation of photons. For MO PCs, one aspect is the research of the essential properties and tunable properties of MO PCs, the other aspect is the research of the optical topological edge state and surface state in photonic crystals, analogous to the topological insulators in electronic system.
